Dear Members.

We need your help.

We are planning to have elections for our newly created Board of Directors that will run from Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 3. We need members to volunteer to serve on the Electoral Commission (EC) for this particular election.

The responsibilities of the EC includes overseeing the:

  • Gathering, verifying and safekeeping of candidate applications. In practice, this means that all emails sent to the elections@kakehashiafrica.com inbox will automatically be forwarded to you.
  • Preparation of the online poll for the candidates. In practice, you will have back-end access to the polls and be in a position to ensure that all candidates have been duly included in the poll.
  • Monitoring that no rigging or unfair advantaging / disadvantaging take place.
  • Announcement of the results.

None of the members of the EC may run for the election or apply for any of the positions in the new prospective executive management.

We are looking for about three members to make-up the EC. If we have too many candidates for the EC, we will consider doing a small online election for the EC.

If you are willing to help, please send an email to elections@kakehashiafrica.com by this Saturday, April 20.

Please note that this election is separate from the election that is currently being planned for the regional branch managers in the Japan Chapter and should not be confused with it. The Board of Directors will be the top governing body of Kakehashi Africa as a whole. It will appoint the new President/CEO and keep the new Executive Management (under which the Japan Chapter falls) accountable through quarterly board meetings.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at nico@kakehashiafrica.com.

Kind regards,

The Interim Executive Management
